Consultation on the move to all-through education, ages 11-16/19
Woodbrook Vale High School, Humphrey Perkins School, Limehurst High School and Rawlins Community College are working in partnership to explore the possibility of all four schools changing to provide education for pupils aged 11-16, with Rawlins taking pupils up to the age of 19. This will bring our schools into line with De Lisle School and the plans for Thorpe Hill Campus in Loughborough.
The benefits of adopting this system, called ‘all-through’ schooling, have been widely discussed in all four schools for some time, with preparations made for this potential re-structure.
The Loughborough Quorn Barrow (LQB) Partnership is exploring this possible re-structure together, in order to improve standards, provide greater stability and support for all pupils, and particularly those who are vulnerable or need extra help with their studies.

Welcome to Woodbrook Vale
Woodbrook Vale High School became an Academy on 1 September 2011. Academy status gives us more freedom to innovate and raise standards. Crucially in these difficult financial times it provides some extra money to spend on learning and teaching and also greater freedom to make our money go further. This is of direct and immediate benefit to pupils at WBV.
We also expect academy status to help us deliver our plan to provide education right through to GCSE level for 16 year olds. Along with other schools in the area we are committed to providing “all-through education” for the current and future intakes of pupils. Detailed curriculum planning for this is going ahead at the moment. For further information please do contact me.
Despite these important changes, our vision, aims and mission remain steadfastly unchanged and we are looking forward to working with pupils, parents and colleagues from local schools in the interests of all.
